Gold had crossed the Rs 33,000-mark at the spot market on Thursday, led by increased buying by local jewellers at the spot market to meet marriage season demand.
Silver also rose on fresh buying by industrial units and coin makers.
In the global markets, Gold prices climbed on Friday as the dollar fell back on expectations the US central bank may pause interest rates hikes if the US economy slows this year, Reuters repoted.
The MCX Gold was trading at Rs 31,982 per 10 grams, up by Rs 102, while MCX Silver was trading Rs 190 higher at Rs 39,475 a kilo around 10:15 am.
