Gold costs slid lower on Wednesday in Asia as U.S. Central bank Chairman Jerome Powell played down desires for a forceful rate trim.

Gold prospects for August conveyance on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange fell 0.1% to $1,411.95 a troy ounce by 1:32 AM ET (05:32 GMT).

Medium-term, Powell said the Fed is examining whether the progressing Sino-U.S. exchange war and abating financial development warrants a rate cut. Yet, he stressed that governmental issues won't be a thought in its choice.
