Oil costs move after tanker assaults stir Middle East pressures
Oil costs ascended on Monday after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Washington will take all activities important to ensure safe route in the Middle East, as strains mounted after assaults on tankers a week ago.
Brent prospects had climbed 14 pennies to $62.15 a barrel by 0645 GMT after prior ascending about 0.4%. They increased 1.1% on Friday.
U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rough prospects were up 3 pennies at $52.54 a barrel, surrendering a portion of their prior additions. They climbed 0.4% in the past session.
